Ваши вопросы

How do the meetings take place?

At Xvost, getting to know a book happens through creativity, so each meeting includes a creative part where we make things related to the theme. While the children are crafting, the host reads aloud. Along the way, we discuss what we’ve read and also talk about the author. For example, while reading stories about the Moomins, we got to know Tove Jansson, thought about what we can learn from her, traveled through Finland, and even looked at the island where the writer lived.
For more details about how meetings are held for each age group, see ig @xvost.paris (:

Do we need to read the book in advance?

No, there’s no need to prepare for the meeting. Daniel Pennac (French writer and educator) once formulated 10 rights of the reader, and here is the first one — the right not to read.

Can a parent be present at the sessions?

Xvost is a family book club where a child and parent can spend time together if they wish. A parent can simply be nearby, help, or even take part in the creative activities.

If a child doesn’t speak Russian well, can they participate?

Of course, yes!

How long does a session last?

Meetings for children aged 3 to 6 last 1 hour.
Meetings for children aged 7 to 12 last 2 hours.

Who leads the book club meetings?

The meetings are led by Dasha Trilevich, a philologist-folklorist and certified teacher of Russian as a foreign language.

How to pay?

You can buy a ticket on the website under the “Meetings” or “Subscriptions” tab.
Only the child needs a ticket.
After payment, a confirmation and information about the place and time of the meetings will be sent to your email.

Where do the meetings take place?

We meet at Xvost’s house at 11 rue Oudinot, 75007, Paris.

I have another question.

Write to xvoctparis@gmail.com and Dasha will help you :)
